The Arts Council of Barton County will host a Free Open Air Art Show, featuring works by local fine and folk artists, photographers, sculptors, handcrafted jewelry makers and more, to be held in conjunction with the 2011 Missouri State Chili Cook-off in Lamar, Missouri. This event will benefit the Rebuilding Fund for St Mary’s Catholic Church, which was tragically destroyed by fire in 2009. http://www.catholicextension.org/site/epage/98416_667.htm. The church has been rebuilt and is back in service, but much remains to be paid for! Please help!

When: Saturday, July 16th, 2011, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Where: Moore Pavilion, 103 East 10th St., Lamar Missouri. The Moore Pavilion is one block east of the historic Lamar town square.

How Much?: This event is FREE, but donations to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Rebuilding Fund will be gratefully accepted.

brooksideBrookside‘s focus is on ART!

Brookside Art Annual will be celebrating its 25th year.  The show is made up of primarily artist booths (not outside vendors and activities). The show ranks in the top 25 shows according to Art Source and ranks in the top 20 by the Harris Report.  Over 70,000 people will visit the first show of the season in a town that loves art….Kansas City, Missouri.

Reflective Elegance

Thanks to a generous donation by Doug and Rayma Davis, the Arts Council of Barton County is currently auctioning two sets of spectacular Limited Edition prints by world-renowned artist, Dalhart Windberg. The first set contains four framed prints, which are collectively titled “The Four Faces of America.” Starting bid for this set is $200.00. We also have a large single print entitled “Reflective Elegance,” with a starting bid of $100.00. The final day for bidding on these items is Thursday, November 20th.
